Interpersonal Attraction & Relationship
tis week is already the 2nd last week for this semester, but today is the 1st time i pay attention to the psychology lecturer, bcos the topic today is " interpersonal attraction n relationship"...is abt those friends n relationship stuff, such as a person's attractiveness, how to maintain a good relationship, wat problems will occur if u do/don't do so, break up n so on....
so all of us are so interested with tat topic, bcos some of the points applied to our reality condition...
during break time, usually we will enter the class as late as possible, but 2day we get into class once she started to teach.... XD
we enjoyed the class....
n i think this is the only psychology class tat we could enjoy....XD
Attachment Styles in Intimate Relationships:
Attachment Styles
The expectations people develop about relationships with others, based on the relationship they had with their primary caregiver when they were infants.
Secure Attachment Style
An attachment style characterized by TRUST, a lack of concern with being abandoned, and the view that one is worthy and well liked.
EX: somebody will feel being loved by their partner even they don't interact with each other frequently, such as sms, call....
Avoidant Attachment Style
An attachment style characterized by a suppression of attachment needs, because attempts to be intimate have been rebuffed; people with this style find it difficult to develop intimate relationships.
EX: These individuals do not invest much emotion in relationships and experience little distress when a relationship ends. They often avoid intimacy by using excuses.
Anxious/Ambivalent Attachment Style
An attachment style characterized by a concern that others will not reciprocate one's desire for intimacy, resulting in higher-than-average levels of anxiety.
EX: somebody will feel unsecured when they don't interact frequently with their partner, they want to see each other everyday, phone call everyday.....
